Tamarisk is offering you a new and unique experience to enjoy your stay in Dalyan. Come to our workshops to learn more about the Turkish culture, relax or basically have fun. The workshops are held either at the newly restored premises or in and around Dalyan depending on the content. All the workshops are conducted by bilingual professionals.
Contemporary Turkish Cooking
Begüm Erenler invites you to begin your day with a visit to the local green grocer where you may compare the fruits and vegetables locally in season to those in your country and learn how to buy the best produce.
Fresh ingredients in hand, Begüm will show you how to prepare a starter, main course and dessert. After enjoying the food you have cooked, you will take away a permanent record of the day, a CD with accompany corresponding cookbook detailing 4 complete Turkish menus!

Starter: Kısır (see the picture!); Main Course: Lentils with onion and garlic sauce; Dessert: Sütlaç; Turkish rice puding

Fortune Telling In Turkish Culture
Coffee cup reading is a different means of communication. If the coffee drinker allows himself to be read, then the reader can reveal many aspects of the person’s life.

Children's Creative Art Session
Let your children be creative during their holiday in Dalyan. Joining our workshop, they will be given the opportunity to have fun whilst producing their own arts and crafts and even take them home as presents! All the children will be guided by a qualified children's’ supervisor. (ages 5 and up)

Basic Turkish
Did you know that Turkish is the second most mathematical language in the world?
Join us and in two hours you will be able to greet people and wish them good health and wealth. In addition at the end of the second hour you will be able to read in Turkish!
The instructor is a certified Turkish/English language teacher.

Oriental Dance for Beginners
Experience a relaxed and fun Oriental Dance workshop from a professional oriental dancer and teacher. For absolute beginners, you will be guided through the basic movements and learn a simple choreography of a short dance. Wear light, comfortable clothing – oriental scarves, bells and accessories will be provided for the workshop; you can have your photo taken and take away a CD of the music you have danced to. We recommend you only have a light meal before the workshop. Held in a cool, private space off the main street.

Basic Bird Watching
After a lazy day in the sun, work up an appetite taking a guided walk with an experienced Ornithologist. We meet at Yaa Cafe in the centre to start our walk in the marshes surrounding Dalyan. During the walk you will be taught invaluable skills to help you identify birds by their shape, movement plus call and song. You might also discover other species of wildlife that inhabit the countryside. Suitable footwear, hat and water needed, binoculars optional.

Olive Oil Tasting
Get to know the world of the olive and olive oil. Learn about this Mediterranean way of life, why olive oil is good for your health, and its terminology. Oils each have a different acidity, a different taste and aroma. Take the opportunity to taste olive oils from four different regions around here, the western coast of Turkey, which is one of the biggest producers of olive oil in the world, and be able to understand the differences between them. Choose your favourite and make olive oil part of your cuisine. At the end of the session you will be given a small gift as a memento and be offered a 10% discount on purchase of your favourite olive oil.
